Cafe & Catering Manager

Ridgewells Catering is seeking a highly motivated and experienced manager to serve as Cafe & Catering Manager at a high profile café and concessions operation in Bethesda, Maryland. This position is part of a management team that oversees the operation of the café, kitchen, concessions, backstage artist hospitality and onsite catering. A successful candidate will have proven customer service experience in high volume environments, adaptability and flexibility to changes, and the ability to think outside of the box. Responsibilities will include: Assisting with the oversight of the daily operations of the café, concessions, and backstage areas; working with kitchen team to generate menus for café, backstage, and onsite catering events; responding to inquiries and generating client proposals; accounting duties such as cash management, invoicing, and accounts payable; and maintaining proper sanitation, cleaning, and food safety standards. Requirements for this position include: A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or other customer service related field; 2-4 years of experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry; the ability to handle multiple projects while remaining organized and on schedule; effective leadership and management skills, the ability to problem solve quickly and effectively; and strong communication and organizational skills. Operations & Concessions Manager

Ridgewells Catering seeks a highly motivated and experienced professional to join the Major Events team as Operations & Concessions Manager. This position will work directly with the General Manager on the day to day planning and execution of all food service functions for one of Ridgewells’ major sporting event accounts. This position is a temporary position for 6 months with the ability to work remotely and the potential to be hired full-time based on performance and the demands of the assigned major sporting event contract. Responsibilities include: planning and executing all infrastructure and support needs for food service at an annual major sporting event; procuring vendors and sub-contractors, building relationships, and negotiating service contracts; developing site-specific food and beverage distribution plans; maintaining organization and inventory of equipment and supplies; attending site visits and vendor meetings as needed; coordinating multiple vendors and departments to ensure all planned operations run smoothly; training and managing a team of temporary event staff; tracking invoices and post-event reconciliation to ensure accurate billing from vendors; other duties as assigned. A successful candidate will have proven experience in high volume environments on multifaceted projects, strong organizational skills with strict attention to detail, adaptability and flexibility in fast-paced environments, and capacity to think outside of the box and solve problems effectively.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of professional experience in event production, operations and/or related field

• 2+ years of experience in event concessions

Account Manager

Ridgewells Catering is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join their Major Events sales team as an Account Manager. This position will manage a portfolio of clients for one of Ridgewells’ major sporting event accounts. Responsibilities will include: working with clients to plan customized menus in accordance with preferences, needs and budgets; collaborating with the culinary team to develop regionally inspired menus; designing a service plan for each client inclusive of staffing and equipment; serving as a liaison between the client and various departments to ensure all orders, special requests and service plans are accurately fulfilled; developing staff training tools, and managing and training event staff onsite; providing outstanding customer service that is responsive, knowledgeable and courteous; entering event and sales information into event software; accounting duties such as invoicing and accounts payable; and maintaining proper sanitation, cleaning and food safety standards. A successful candidate will have proven customer service experience in high volume environments, strong organizational skills with strict attention to detail, adaptability and flexibility in fast-paced environments, and the ability to think proactively and creatively, and solve problems effectively.

Ridgewells is seeking a Sales Assistant to support the Event Designers on the sales team. Responsibilities will include entering event and sales information into event software; receiving and responding to phone-in customer requests; creating proposals, attending meetings and events, and creating menu and tent cards for various events. Must be proficient in MS Office Suite and Publisher. Applicant should have effective communication skills, strong administrative skills, and a pleasant and helpful personality, the ability to work as part of a team, and be able to handle multiple projects, and remain organized while meeting deadlines. Executive Sous Chef

Ridgewells is seeking to hire an Executive Chef to join our culinary production team. This candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day food production of our high volume operation. Accounts Payable Analyst

This candidate must be well organized and detail-oriented to handle all aspects of its payable function, including but not limited to: input and post vouchers/invoices into Great Plains Dynamic, maintains files of vouchers in an organized manner, reviews vendor statements, prepares the weekly check run, prepares daily electronic cash receipt deposit, and supports Account Receivables/Billing. Ability to reconcile G/L Accounts to sub ledgers. Ideal candidate must be self-motivated and possess good analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently. Minimum of 2 years experience is required. Experience with Microsoft Office applications preferred.

Staffing Coordinator

Purple Tie by Ridgewells is seeking to hire a Staffing Coordinator to assist with social and corporate event staffing. Candidate will work closely with the Senior Operations Manager providing administrative support to facilitate the efficient staffing of events. Duties will include communicating event details to staff – schedules, logistical details, uniform reminders, onsite time and any other pertinent information deemed necessary for the successful execution of the event. Additionally, candidate will be responsible for entering events into the company database system; act as liaison between Ridgewells’ Event Design team and event staff; answering the telephone and responding to voice messages; share the responsibility of after hour’s phone with the staffing coordinators, act as an onsite Event Manager checking in event staff and coordinate service during the event. Applicant must have excellent communications skills; a pleasant telephone manner; be customer service oriented and a pleasant and helpful personality. Candidate must have a high school diploma or general education degree, minimum of 3 years related experience. A degree from an accredited hospitality school is preferred but not required.

Prep Cook

Ridgewells the premier cater in the Washington, DC area is seeking a Prep Cook to join our food production team. Candidates must have experience with all cold food production including; salads, vinaigrettes, cold sauces, soups, charcuterie, hors d’oeuvres, fruits, etc. Must have the ability to read and execute recipes written in English, understands and practices proper time and temperature controls as defined under county, state and federal guidelines, and must have good knife skills. Candidate must have at least 3 years’ of catering/hotel experience with all cold food production. Must have the ability to work as a team member in a high volume environment and practice good communication skills. Servsafe certification is preferred. Candidate must complete a 1-2 day stage in order to be considered for this position.

Event Designer

Responsibilities will include planning and designing corporate and social events, presenting proposals and contracts that respond to the customer’s interest and budget and managing assigned and solicited accounts to achieve a monthly sales budget.
