2017 U.S. Open Championship

Ridgewells Catering is seeking energetic, motivated, and team-oriented individuals to join our team for the U.S. Open Golf Championship in Erin, WI held June 12 – 18, 2017. Each position plays an integral role in the success of the Championship and offers a unique opportunity to work as part of a large scale catering operation alongside top industry professionals.

General Manager

Ridgewells Catering is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to manage multiple venues in the Washington, DC area. This position oversees a management team that handles the operation of the café, kitchen, concessions, backstage artist hospitality and onsite catering as well as a separate night club style venue. A successful candidate will have proven customer service experience in high volume environments, adaptability and flexibility to changes, and the ability to think outside of the box. Responsibilities will include assisting with the oversight of the daily operations of the café, concessions, and backstage areas; working with the culinary team to generate menus for café, backstage, and onsite catering events; responding to inquiries and generating client proposals; accounting duties such as cash management, invoicing, and accounts payable; and maintaining proper sanitation, cleaning, and food safety standards. Requirements for this position include a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or other customer service related field; 2-4 years of experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry; the ability to handle multiple projects while remaining organized and on schedule; effective leadership and management skills, the ability to problem solve quickly and effectively; and strong communication and organizational skills. This position requires a flexible and alternative work schedule with nights and weekends as the primary shift.

Operations Manager, Major Events

Ridgewells Catering seeks a highly motivated and experienced professional in the world of major sports event catering to join the Major Events team as Operations Manager. The Operations Manager will assist the General Manager in the day to day planning and execution of all catering functions for assigned major sports event accounts, and in the development of a new concessions concept.

A successful candidate will have proven experience in high volume, fast-paced environments on multifaceted projects with the ability to adapt to change and think outside of the box creatively. Additional priority traits include excellent communication skills; strong organizational skills with an attention to detail; ability to work independently, but also collaborate as part of a team; and effective leadership and management skills.

• Some travel, including up to 25 consecutive days from Memorial Day through June
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management or related field
• 4+ years of experience in hospitality or restaurant industry with some prior experience in event concessions

Event Designer

Ridgewells Catering is seeking an Event Designer to become a member of its’ Sales Team. Responsibilities will include planning and designing corporate and social events, presenting proposals and contracts that respond to the customer’s interest and budget and managing assigned and solicited accounts to achieve a monthly sales budget. Other duties include responding to client inquiries, providing customer service that is responsive, knowledgeable and courteous, entering sales and event information into event software, scheduling and attending site-visits, and acting as liaison between the customer and various departments to ensure that orders and event contracts are fulfilled. Must have experience in sales and catering. Applicant should have effective communications skills, a pleasant and helpful personality, and knowledge of food, equipment and event management.
