JOIN OUR TEAM FOR THE 2018 U.S. WOMEN’S OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2018 U.S. Women’s Open Championship will be held May 28–June 3 at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Shoal Creek, AL located near Birmingham.

Purple Tie by Ridgewells manages the recruitment, hiring and training of all event staff to support the large scale catering operation at the event. Our U.S. Women’s Open team enjoys a professional working atmosphere and competitive compensation.

A variety of front and back of house catering positions are available:

  • TENT SUPERVISORS, BEVERAGE MANAGERS, BUFFET MANAGERS, BARTENDERS and SERVERS
    Energetic, outgoing and friendly individuals who are willing to go above and beyond to create the ultimate guest experience.
  • TENT CHEFS, SOUS CHEFS, KITCHEN ASSISTANTS, ACTION STATION ATTENDANTS and DISHWASHERS
    Individuals with culinary talent and kitchen experience who are hardworking, resourceful and willing to work long hours.

    Those who thrive in a team environment with the endurance to perform physical tasks on a daily basis.
  • NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
    Non-profit groups looking to raise funds for their organizations by operating a concessions location on course.

Employees should expect to work in outdoor weather conditions and walk long distances on a daily basis. All positions are for temporary employment. Individuals may be subject to background checks and employment eligibility will be verified through E-Verify.

Pastry Cook

Ridgewells Catering is seeking a Pastry Cook to join our bakery team. This candidate will be responsible for preparing and baking cakes, cookies, pies, breads, pastries and other desserts according to recipes. This candidate should have the ability to decorate cakes and pastries at a high level. Should be able to prepare ice creams, confections, chocolates and plated desserts. Have the ability to assist in creating and testing new recipes. Should be able to safely use all baking equipment and utilize proper food handling techniques following the health and safety standards. This candidate should maintain a clean and organized work area. Requirements for this position is a minimum of 2 years of experience as a pastry and dessert cook, and a minimum of 1 year of experience as a baker, in a hotel, resort or a restaurant setting, good self-discipline with an ability to complete tasks independently. Strong artistic and decorative talents with great attention to detail. Candidate must complete a 1-2 day stage in order to be considered for this position.

Sales Associate

Ridgewells is seeking a Sales Associate to support an Event Designer. Responsibilities will include planning and coordinating events, managing assigned accounts, attending meetings and events, acting as liaison between the customer and various departments to ensure that orders are fulfilled and assisting the Event Designer in achieving monthly sales goals. The individual will also be responsible for entering event and sales information into event software, receiving and responding to phone-in customers, reconciling Event Analysis Reports, attending site-visits and tastings, and all administrative functions. Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, and Publisher. Applicant should have effective communication skills and a pleasant and helpful personality, the ability to work as part of a team, and be able to handle multiple projects, and remain organized while meeting deadlines. Preference for hospitality/food service experience

Cafe & Catering Manager

Ridgewells Catering is seeking a highly motivated and experienced manager to serve as Cafe & Catering Manager at a high profile café and concessions operation in Bethesda, Maryland. This position is part of a management team that oversees the operation of the café, kitchen, concessions, backstage artist hospitality and onsite catering. A successful candidate will have proven customer service experience in high volume environments, adaptability and flexibility to changes, and the ability to think outside of the box. Responsibilities will include: Assisting with the oversight of the daily operations of the café, concessions, and backstage areas; working with kitchen team to generate menus for café, backstage, and onsite catering events; responding to inquiries and generating client proposals; accounting duties such as cash management, invoicing, and accounts payable; and maintaining proper sanitation, cleaning, and food safety standards. Requirements for this position include: A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or other customer service related field; 2-4 years of experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry; the ability to handle multiple projects while remaining organized and on schedule; effective leadership and management skills, the ability to problem solve quickly and effectively; and strong communication and organizational skills. This position requires a flexible and alternative work schedule with nights and weekends as the primary shift.

Executive Sous Chef

Ridgewells is seeking to hire an Executive Chef to join our culinary production team. This candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day food production of our high volume operation. Candidate must maintain the highest quality food standard and ensure that food is prepared in an organized, efficient and timely manner. Responsibilities include: utilization of high sanitation standards and monitoring the overall cleanliness of the department; establishing food preparation deadlines through effective management of staff within the department and assisting in menu planning, preparation of budgets, management of payroll, food cost control and other records. Must have a proven record in managing high volume kitchen operation and working well in high-pressure situations. Ideal candidate should have the following qualities: leadership abilities, working as a team player, problem solving, prioritizing and delegating. A culinary degree and a minimum of 5 years culinary management experience are required.

Prep Cook

Ridgewells the premier cater in the Washington, DC area is seeking a Prep Cook to join our food production team. Candidates must have experience with all cold food production including; salads, vinaigrettes, cold sauces, soups, charcuterie, hors d’oeuvres, fruits, etc. Must have the ability to read and execute recipes written in English, understands and practices proper time and temperature controls as defined under county, state and federal guidelines, and must have good knife skills. Candidate must have at least 3 years’ of catering/hotel experience with all cold food production. Must have the ability to work as a team member in a high volume environment and practice good communication skills. Servsafe certification is preferred. Candidate must complete a 1-2 day stage in order to be considered for this position.

Event Designer

Ridgewells Catering is seeking an Event Designer to become a member of its’ Sales Team. Responsibilities will include planning and designing corporate and social events, presenting proposals and contracts that respond to the customer’s interest and budget and managing assigned and solicited accounts to achieve a monthly sales budget. Other duties include responding to client inquiries, providing customer service that is responsive, knowledgeable and courteous, entering sales and event information into event software, scheduling and attending site-visits, and acting as liaison between the customer and various departments to ensure that orders and event contracts are fulfilled. Must have experience in sales and catering. Applicant should have effective communications skills, a pleasant and helpful personality, and knowledge of food, equipment and event management.
