Ridgewells Catering is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join their Major Events team as an Account Manager. This multifaceted position will primarily focus on sales and client relations, but will also assist with operations. Responsibilities will include: managing a portfolio of clients for one or more of Ridgewells’ major sporting event contracts; collaborating with the culinary team to develop fresh and inspired menus; planning customized menus to match each client’s budget and needs; designing individual service plans inclusive of staffing and equipment; serving as a liaison between the client and various departments to ensure an outstanding client and guest experience; developing staff training tools, and managing and training event staff onsite; using event software to place orders, run reports and ensure accurate billing; assisting with operations projects and assigned vendors; accounting duties such as invoicing and accounts payable; and maintaining food safety standards. A successful candidate will have proven customer service experience in high volume environments, adaptability and flexibility in fast-paced environments, the ability to think and work proactively and creatively, and solve problems and make decisions effectively. Requirements include but not limited to; Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Event Management, or related field;5+ years of professional experience in the event production, sales and/or customer service; knowledge and interest in food a must; Impeccable organization and attention to detail; Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal); team player with an outgoing, helpful personality, and positive, can-do attitude; physical and mental capability to work long hours on your feet, while interacting with clients, guests and staff, at outdoor events; proficient use of MS Office (specifically MS Excel) with the ability to pick up new computer programs quickly – experience in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop are a plus; some travel, including up to 25 consecutive days from mid-May to early-June.

This candidate will work on a consistent basis with the Sales Team to generate new business and maintain contact with present accounts. Other responsibilities include, developing sales strategies by identifying customers current and future needs, establishing sales development goals and objectives with the Executive Committee, generating sales by identifying potential clients, establishing relationships with lobbyists, consultants and sites, identifying potential customers by examining past records, maintaining relations with customers by organizing and developing specific customer-relations programs, and participating in local social events. This candidate will be responsible for preparing and baking cakes, cookies, pies, breads, pastries and other desserts according to recipes. This candidate should have the ability to decorate cakes and pastries at a high level. Should be able to prepare ice creams, confections, chocolates and plated desserts. Have the ability to assist in creating and testing new recipes. Should be able to safely use all baking equipment and utilize proper food handling techniques following the health and safety standards. Cafe & Catering Manager

This position is part of a management team that oversees the operation of the café, kitchen, concessions, backstage artist hospitality and onsite catering. A successful candidate will have proven customer service experience in high volume environments, adaptability and flexibility to changes, and the ability to think outside of the box. Responsibilities will include: Assisting with the oversight of the daily operations of the café, concessions, and backstage areas; working with kitchen team to generate menus for café, backstage, and onsite catering events; responding to inquiries and generating client proposals; accounting duties such as cash management, invoicing, and accounts payable; and maintaining proper sanitation, cleaning, and food safety standards. Requirements for this position include: A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or other customer service related field; 2-4 years of experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry; the ability to handle multiple projects while remaining organized and on schedule; effective leadership and management skills, the ability to problem solve quickly and effectively; and strong communication and organizational skills. Executive Sous Chef
Ridgewells is seeking to hire an Executive Chef to join our culinary production team. This candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day food production of our high volume operation. Candidate must maintain the highest quality food standard and ensure that food is prepared in an organized, efficient and timely manner. Responsibilities include: utilization of high sanitation standards and monitoring the overall cleanliness of the department; establishing food preparation deadlines through effective management of staff within the department and assisting in menu planning, preparation of budgets, management of payroll, food cost control and other records. Must have a proven record in managing high volume kitchen operation and working well in high-pressure situations. Ideal candidate should have the following qualities: leadership abilities, working as a team player, problem solving, prioritizing and delegating. Ridgewells the premier catering company in the Washington, DC area is seeking a Prep Cook to join our food production team. Candidates must have experience with all cold food production including; salads, vinaigrettes, cold sauces, soups, charcuterie, hors d’oeuvres, fruits, etc. Must have the ability to read and execute recipes written in English, understands and practices proper time and temperature controls as defined under county, state and federal guidelines, and must have good knife skills.
