Purple Tie by Ridgewells is seeking to hire a Staffing Coordinator to assist with social and corporate event staffing. Candidate will work closely with the Senior Operations Manager providing administrative support to facilitate the efficient staffing of events. Duties will include communicating event details to staff – schedules, logistical details, uniform reminders, onsite time and any other pertinent information deemed necessary for the successful execution of the event. Additionally, candidate will be responsible for entering events into the company database system; act as liaison between Ridgewells’ Event Design team and event staff; answering the telephone and responding to voice messages; share the responsibility of after hour’s phone with the staffing coordinators, act as an onsite Event Manager checking in event staff and coordinate service during the event. Applicant must have excellent communications skills; a pleasant telephone manner; be customer service oriented and a pleasant and helpful personality. Candidate must have a high school diploma or general education degree, minimum of 3 years related experience. A degree from an accredited hospitality school is preferred but not required.

Ridgewells is seeking a Sales Associate to support an Event Designer. Responsibilities will include planning and coordinating events, managing assigned accounts, attending meetings and events, acting as liaison between the customer and various departments to ensure that orders are fulfilled and assisting the Event Designer in achieving monthly sales goals. The individual will also be responsible for entering event and sales information into event software, receiving and responding to phone-in customers, reconciling Event Analysis Reports, attending site-visits and tastings, and all administrative functions. Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, and Publisher. Applicant should have effective communication skills and a pleasant and helpful personality, the ability to work as part of a team, and be able to handle multiple projects, and remain organized while meeting deadlines. Ridgewells Catering is seeking a Pastry Cook to join our bakery team in Bethesda, MD. This candidate will be responsible for preparing and baking cakes, cookies, pies, breads, pastries and other desserts according to recipes. This candidate should have the ability to assist in decorating cakes and pastries. Should be able to prepare ice creams, confections, chocolates and plated desserts. Have the ability to assist in creating and testing new recipes. Should be able to safely use all baking equipment and utilize proper food handling techniques following the health and safety standards. This candidate should maintain a clean and organized work area. Have the ability to assist chefs and co-workers as needed in execution of preparation and production. Requirements for this position are a degree in Pastry Arts and or Baking, a minimum of 2 years of experience as a pastry and dessert cook, and a minimum of 1 year of experience as a baker, in a hotel, resort or a restaurant setting, good self-discipline with an ability to complete tasks independently. Strong artistic and decorative talents with great attention to detail. Candidate must complete a 1-2 day stage in order to be considered for this position.

Ridgewells the premier cater in the Washington, DC area is seeking a Prep Cook to join our food production team. Candidates must have experience with all cold food production including; salads, vinaigrettes, cold sauces, soups, charcuterie, hors d’oeuvres, fruits, etc. Must have the ability to read and execute recipes written in English, understands and practices proper time and temperature controls as defined under county, state and federal guidelines, and must have good knife skills. Candidate must have at least 3 years’ of catering/hotel experience with all cold food production. Must have the ability to work as a team member in a high volume environment and practice good communication skills. Servsafe certification is preferred. Candidate must complete a 1-2 day stage in order to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities will include planning and designing corporate and social events, presenting proposals and contracts that respond to the customer’s interest and budget and managing assigned and solicited accounts to achieve a monthly sales budget. Other duties include responding to client inquiries, providing customer service that is responsive, knowledgeable and courteous, entering sales and event information into event software, scheduling and attending site-visits, and acting as liaison between the customer and various departments to ensure that orders and event contracts are fulfilled.
